Hey ! So I'm only 15 pages in (my country is curently under a nasty heat wave and it's really hard to concentrate on reading when your brain is melting off ^^) but I wanted to say that I'm really glad that this book club exist because the Infinite Plan is probably a book I wouldn't have picked up on my own and I would have missed out on something because I really enjoy it ! Happy reading !

So, I've just finished the book and I can officially say that I'm becoming a huge Isabel Allende fan. The book reminded me of 'The Goldfinch', in terms of the storyline: a person's life story from childhood to adulthood, stories about his family/friends and the real meaning of life. As Katie said: 'it's a beautiful book from start to finish' Hope you'll all enjoy it as much as I have. Happy Reading!

I just finished reading the first part of the book today. While I don't deny the quality of the writing, Isabel Allende really is a talented writer ! I find myself struggling a bit with reading, maybe because I've lost the habit of reading books which storylines span over a lifetime. Though I'm having trouble, I still enjoy the story, it might just take me more time to read it. In the first part, I particularly liked the part we're seeing throught the eyes of Gregory and the way the things he experiences add to his character

That book was sooo good! There's something that I love about a story that goes on for years. I already got "Paula" by Isabel Allende in hopes that it'll blow me away just like this one did. I looked into the writer itself a little bit and I think "The Infinite Plan" is based, to some degree, on her husband's life. Her other books, like Paula and the House of Ghosts, are also about personal experiences. I find it extremely impressive that she was willing to share herself like that with the whole world.

I didn't know the The Infinite Plan was based on her husband's life! That’s interesting! Paula was maybe the only book that made me cry from the very first page. I guess when authors share their personal stories, they create a unique and special connection with their readers, and I really felt that while reading Paula, maybe because a person very close to me is in the same medical condition. I admired Allende’s courage to share her daughter’s story and trust me – the book will blow you away.

Gregory is a very complex character, to say the least
